Code of conduct

Last updated: 29 July 2026

Crownfall is in development. These standards apply to every space we run, including testing, and will be reviewed before public launch.

The short version

Crownfall is a game about outthinking other people. Beating someone is the point. Making the game unpleasant for them is not. If you would not say it to someone across a table, do not type it into a chat channel.

What we expect

Play to win, and let other people play too. Compete hard, negotiate, betray an alliance if the game allows it — that is strategy, and it is not a conduct matter. Treat the person on the other side as a person while you do it.

Use the reporting tools rather than retaliating. Every player can report a message or a player, and reports are reviewed by our moderation staff.

What is not allowed

Harassment and hate. Targeted abuse, threats, sexual harassment, or attacks based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or age.

Content involving minors. Any sexual content involving minors, or attempts to contact or groom a minor, will be reported to the appropriate authorities and result in a permanent ban with no appeal.

Real-world harm. Threats of violence, encouragement of self-harm, doxxing, or publishing another player's personal information.

Cheating. Automation, bots, scripts, modified clients, exploiting bugs instead of reporting them, or interfering with our servers.

Account abuse. Selling, buying, sharing or transferring accounts. Running additional accounts to feed resources to a main account, manipulate rankings, or evade a sanction.

Impersonation. Presenting yourself as Kyvarr Studios staff, or as another commander.

Illegal activity and attempts to use Crownfall to advertise, scam or defraud other players.

A note on exploits

If you find a bug that gives an unfair advantage, tell us at support@kyvarr.com. Reporting it is never punished. Repeatedly using it is.

How we enforce this

Moderation is carried out by authorised staff, and every action a staff member takes is permanently recorded for accountability. Depending on what happened, how severe it was and what came before it, we may:

We do not usually jump straight to a ban for a first mistake. We will for the things listed as never allowed above.

Language filtering

Crownfall filters chat automatically. You can choose in your settings whether filtered messages are hidden or shown to you. Turning the filter off does not permit abusive language — the standards on this page apply to what you write, not to what other people see.

Sanction evasion

Creating a new account to avoid a sanction extends the original sanction and may result in a permanent ban of every associated account.

If you think we got it wrong

Email support@kyvarr.com from the address registered to your account, with your commander name and what you are appealing. We will review it. We will not discuss the outcome of a report you made about someone else — their account is their private matter, as yours is yours.

Changes

We may update these standards as Crownfall grows. Material changes will be announced in game and on this page.
